Chemical boiler Corrosion Inhibitor Rojen B 500
Product name: ROJEN B 500
Group: Boiler Chemicals
Application: Boiler water system
Main function:: Inhibits corrosion
1.0. Introduction
ROJEN B-500 Corrosion inhibitors consist of sodium sulfite mixed with a special catalyst. It is used to prevent corrosion in steam generation systems by removing dissolved oxygen from feed water and boiler water. ROJEN B-500 reacts quickly with oxygen in water to provide greater protection to the boiler and preboiler parts, especially where mechanical deaeration is imperfect.
2.0 Characteristics
Appearance: White powder with pink spots
Specific gravity: 1.5-2.5
pH (1%): 8.0 - 8.5
3.0- Handling & Safety
Rojen Chemicals has a database of material safety data sheets (MSDS) on all of these MSDS products containing health & safety information to assist in handling chemicals that are safe and appropriate, to ensure personnel protection
4.0- Packaging
Available in 25kg pail packaging.
5.0- Main Application
The recommended dose is 8.0 ppm of ROJEN B-500 for each ppm of dissolved oxygen in feed water, plus the concentration needed to maintain a small amount of excess sulfite in the boiler.
6.0- Feeding & Control
Sulfite testing equipment is needed to carry out the required control tests. The ROJEN B-500 dose is adjusted to maintain a residue of 30 to 50 ppm as sulfite in boiler water. For boilers operating at pressures of more than 600 psig, it may be necessary to maintain a lower residue. Our technical representative will recommend the correct ROJEN B-500 dose after evaluating all system parameters.
