Definition of Pumps Pump is a device used to move a liquid from one place to another by increasing the pressure of the liquid. The increase in fluid pressure is used to overcome the flowing obstacles. Flowing obstacles can be in the form of pressure differences, height differences or friction resistance. In principle, the pump converts the mechanical energy of the motor into the energy of fluid flow. The energy received by the fluid will be used to increase the pressure and overcome the prisoners found on the channel being passed. Use of pumps The pump has two main uses: Move liquids from one place to another (eg water from an underground aquifer to a water storage tank) Circulate fluid around the system (eg cooling or lubricating water that passes through machinery and equipment) Pumps can also be used in processes that require large hydraulic pressure. This can be found, among others, in heavy equipment. In operation, heavy machinery requires a large discharge pressure and low suction pressure. Due to the low pressure on the suction side of the pump, the fluid will rise from a certain depth, whereas due to high pressure on the discharge side it will force the fluid to rise to the desired height.
